I love the workouts at FIT Grand Junction. Having always been an active person, I’d been frustrated by my diminishing motivation for weight training, running, and other activities due to shoulder and knee pain caused by several bicycle crashes. After several weeks working out at FIT, I noticed both pains were subsiding. The shoulder-specific mobility and weight training exercises have eliminated my shoulder pain. The knee and core exercises with emphasis on good form and the balance-type exercises that work some tiny stabilizing muscles that I didn’t even know I had, have done wonders for my knee pain.
The workouts are fun, fast, and friendly. I like not having to think about what I’m going to do, but love that I’m challenged. And best of all, the workouts have kept me in condition for the other activities I love: cycling, skiing, hiking, golf and tennis.
After returning from a cruise several months ago, I decided that it was time to get my health back. As a 51 year old who has a sedentary job and who has on my own tried everything over the years from treadmills to expensive exercise bikes and also different diets, all with little success, I was intrigued by FIT Grand Junction and all of the programs that are offered as well as the expert coaching.
After 5 months of dedication (105 classes), including mentally pushing myself through the several months of uncomfortable soreness, I am feeling stronger and healthier than I have in a long time. The 10 minute warm up now feels like a warm up, instead of a workout, my shoulders no longer pop when I raise them above my head, I’m sleeping well, my blood pressure is great, I’ve lost several inches from my waist (11 pounds of fat while gaining muscle), and overall I’m feeling amazing.
FIT Grand Junction has been exactly what I had hoped it would be and also what I have needed for a long time. It’s been a life changer, and I can’t wait to see how much more I can progress in the coming months and years.
